What are some reading tips to help improve 1st graders reading skill? I have a first grader who is struggling with reading and I need some tips to help her improve.

visit some speech therapists, or if he okay you show him pictures and let him tell the name of it repeatedly.

There's a reading programme called sound waves. It's expensive but worth it. I used it with my kids years ago so I don't know if it's still out there. Maybe you can find it second hand on ebay. There are also a lot of books out there on how to teach you kids phonics. The best way for kids to learn to read is to be read to alot. Read to them their favourate book everyday and soon they will be able to read it too.

You know what iam also struggling to teach my daughter on how to read i read the book first then i want her to understand what i read then she have to tell me what the story is then she begin to read the first sentence then i guide her litle by litlle until we finish the first sentence and after that i read again the story then she will read the second sentence i do the familiarization technique so that she might understand very well.
