Yesterday I applied to the Youtube Partners Program for fun. I was looking through the requirements for the program, and you pretty much have to be the most popular person in the world to be accepted. What the heck is that?! I just want to make some money from my videos, and I have to have millions of views a second before they look at me. What do you guys think about this? Do you guys know about this?

Youtube is so popular that they don't really need to give money away for videos. Thousands of people post videos, maintain channels etc just for fun, and there doesn't really seem to be any pressure on Youtube to pay, so why would they? I guess the partnership program would be designed mostly to get content from famous bands or movie studios that would ordinarily just post to their own homepages...
