Should I remove a bird nest out of my garden

I got around to some serious yard work this morning. I mow the grass, and edge. I have some small trees in my flower bed that needed to be pruned. With all the rains, they just look dreadful. Well, there is a bird nest in one of the trees. I did not know what to do so I just left the tree. Can I move the bird nest to a another location or should I just trim around it and hopefully the mama bird will move to another location. The trees in question is in front of my house. I really don't want them to grow to tall so I have to at some point trim them down, but I don't want to hurt the birds. What should I do?

Definitely do not move the nest. The little mamma and poppa birds have carefully chosen that spot and worked very hard to make the nest. In terms of the big picture, they will only be there a few months and your tree won't possibly grow that much in a few months. You could trim around the area but not too close because as I said the little birds have chosen that area because they think it is safe. If you try to move it or trim too much away, then other animals may be able to get to the little babies and that would not be good. I really would leave it and wait until the babies are grown. It would be very sweet and unselfish of you to do this.

I would leave it there. I would not want to hurt them. I will trim around a little bit of not to disturb them and just wait till they are grown and leave.

That is definitely the best decision. The little birds really work hard to build their nest. If a human hand touches the nest, the birds will not use it. I am very happy to hear that you will try not to disturb it. After all, it really won't be long before the little babies are grown and then it would be a better time to give your tree a real haircut!

I'd leave the nest alone and hope the birds move on soon. In the meantime I would trim around the nest. Birds are pretty smart and may move on their own once they see that the tree is changing. Good luck either way.

I was thinking about leaving it there just was not sure if it was the right thing to do.

I would leave it there for now. I have a bird nest in one of the areas of my garden too. In fact the structure of the nest has prevented one of my most favourite plants from growing. But I don't want to move it, as birds are very sensitive to this and they will not use the home they have worked so hard to build if they sense that someone has fiddled with it. I think birds are such lovely creatures and it would be cruel to tamper with their delicately prepared home.

I have a tree sitting right in front of my house, I was thinking about removing it in the fall and was going to do it but recently I have found the birdies are making the nest on the tree so I guess I won't move it until the fall because I don't want to destroy their house now.

You have to be very careful with birds. Even if they know they are being disturbed they could go away and leave the eggs or little birds to die. Stay away as much as possible until the birds have flown

You might be able to find another tree for those birds. We had some birds that made their nest in between the foam and the roof of the shed and made a mess,so me and one of my sons went to get them out of there I thought they were still babies but no they could fly out of the roof. We put a left over chicken fencing so they don't come back.
