I am thinking of going in for a rootcanal, It has been advised by my dentist, I fear of the pain it would be and the visits. Would it be better to have some drugs to subdue the pain and avoid it. Does it hurt much to have a rootcannal!

i've just had a root canal last tuesday and it was my second session. I take antibiotics now and i've recently felt the pain, My dentist said it was normal since the tooth is "adjusting"? he said that i should inform him in 3 days if i still feel some sort of pain. During the procedure, your dentist will apply topical anesthesia and later on an injection of anesthesia when he gets to the roots i think so you'll feel no pain. just a tingling sensation..

Hi, It will be a little pain in the first visit only but the dentist will make it numb so you wotn get much pain. Dont neglect it as it will lead to extraction of tooth which is more painful. I had the same issue and neglected it and had to extract the teeth.
