I don't really know why, I personally have always found that trend to be odd and when i was little say to my friends "why would you buy your dad a tie????" because my dad never wears them.....I think fathers are just in general hard to buy for, so depending on your fathers personality, you buy them something based on that or buy something they always seem to need,,,,,I have bought my father like 7 wallets in the 15 years that I have been old enough to pick out his gift.....have probably bought him 10 books throughout the years for birthdays/christmas....only twice was i able to buy something "creative"....one was a raiders hardhat and with that gift I wrote my name down so to speak in our families hall of fame gifts,,,,it was the best and most creative gift anyone got our dad lol
