Motorcycle riders, please read...

Last night as I was driving home, my curiosity got stirred when a slight traffic jam halted some moving vehicles. Things came to my mind, what could it be, an accident, road construction? Much to my dismay, It was indeed an accident, and a very gruesome one. Two men lie dead on the street. The blood from their cracked heads were flowing to the other side of the street. The other man's brain was showing while he lie lifeless underneath a small truck. It seemed that they were riding a motorcycle too fast and they bumped a car, then they were thrown to the other lane of the street. As I was to pass by, the police officer halted me and then he signaled the other lane vehicles to go. I was struck there to a front seat view of the tragedy. And there was also no way for me to avoid running over the blood that flowed on the street. Motorcycle riders, please be careful on the road...

Hi Redhornet117! No intention of demeaning the motorcycle drivers but I'm not really surprised with this accident involving motorcycle. I just feel that motorcycles are not fit or suitable in the current road and traffic we have here in the Philippines. Also, motorcycle drivers have no road discipline, overtaking on every sides and cutting your lane. They also don't wear protective gears such as helmet which is very useful in saving life with accident like this. Overall, I think motorcycle have taken the moniker king of the road from the jeepney. They are hazards on the road whether they are running slow or fast. Have a nice day!

I agree man. I watch the early news and evening news everyday and most accidents on the road involves motorcycles. I just hate it when they cut your lane just when your about to get into gear then you'll be forced to hit your brakes. But what scares me most about them is when I see a motorcycle whose passengers are the whole family of a person. The father would be driving, the mother would be behind him, but in between would be teo to three small children. Man I know times are hard. But it's not worth it riskin whole family's lives in a motorcycle.

Yeah, this is very true. And what funny about this is the father whose driving the motorcycle only wears the helmet. Maybe they think that they could save on transportation fare but not on the hospital bill.

That's correct and sad at the same time my friend. What a way to save on fare, risking your whole family's lives, including your own. It's more reasonable if they'd just take a jeepney ride.

It's really a shame that there are a lot of motorcycle accidents lately. They just can't seem to realize that it's not safe when you drive fast. Whenever I cross the road I flinch at motorcycles. I got bumped once, I was crossing Dapitan and he was driving to fast and making his way at the "bangketa" where he is not supposed to be, so I didn't see him, and he didn't see me. He bumped my thigh, and just drove away. Did not even stopped to ask how I am.. or if I was hurt.. I just wish that they'll be more responsible..

Wow, that was a real jerk. If that happened to me, I'd unleash hell on the driver. LOL. I understand what you feel. Some motorcyclist think that they are the king of the road. They go blazin on the street and on sidewalks as well. I get irritated by them sometimes. But let's give a thumbs up to those who drive their motorbikes safely and responsibly. Though they seem to get fewer these days.
