We-m@il

A new phenomenon has arisen in our electronic world. Happy couples are now signing up for joint e-mail accounts. Experts have named this epidemic 'we-mail'. Example = meandhim@domain.com I like to have my own e-mail account as I like my privacy and I like my independance. What if you purchase a gift online and the receipt needs to be e-mailed to you. How can you keep that a secret if you are sharing an inbox? What do we make of this?

I didn't know there was a name for it. Does it include the family e-mail? (For example: ourfamily@domain.com) Other than that question, I have no real problem with it. It is kind of like the decision to share a bank account after marriage: Either choice seems to work out as long as both parties are honest. (And if they're not honest with each other and themselves, they aren't likely to last anyway!)

i've never heard that name "we-mail" before but i've seen some people with we-spaces on myspace. it's weird to me because of the way they're giving up their personal identity for a combined identity. i guess these people would have to use their old email addresses for buying surprises and stuff. but then if they use the old email for that, why not just use it for everything... maybe a we-mail address would be helpful if you have kids and need one address both people can check for school messages, soccer messages, family emails, etc. but something like this would be unnecessary in my life.
