did john lennon and paul mc cartney really become friends? I've read somewhere that although they were in the same band they did not get on together

I think that they had a love/hate relationship, much like many people do who have to work so closely together.

Both want to be called as the front man of Beatles so its obvious that there are differences between them...McCartney wrote Penny Lane about his childhood,so Lennon done one of his own in Strawberry Fields ..Both wants to proof their superiority and thats why went for the solo career. There always a cold war between them but their manager Allan Williams always been a binding force between.

My father is truly expert of the Beatles! When they were in one band they were best friends... but after beatles crashed, they had many disagreements about producers... after that they were like a dogs :) Sorry for my bad english, Happy MyLotting!

hello abruzzi10, thanks a lot for dropping by. indeed the beatles have their followers even if mac cartney and lennon went their own way and had their own albums. I like lennon's Imagine. The lyrics are good. I'm glad your dad is fond of the beatles. my mother likes the beatles too and all the other boy bands in her time. it's just too bad, bands now a days are no longer that good. anyway, say hello from me and have a nice day.
