Ok so I must share with every one that last night I cut up a seedless watermelon that I had bought the other day. It has been sitting in my refridgerator so it was nice and cold. I have never purchased this kind of watermelon as it was a smaller seedless watermelon ( like a mini ), instead of a normal sized seedless. Anyways, I have never had such a delicious watermelon in my entire life! It was soo juicey and flavorful! I think from now on I will be buying STRICTLY mini seedless watermelons and no other kind! Have you ever tried one of these? What are your thoughts on them?

It makes total sense that the smaller watermelons are more tastier compared to their oversized counterparts. This is because all the flavor is concentrated in a smaller area/volume compared to an oversized watermelon - where the sweetness is generally just around the center of the sphere. That's why I always get the mini-watermelons. Not necessarily seedless though (because those are rare around here) - but it's a great bonus when it's seedless too! My bf loves watermelon so I'm taking him to a watermelon festival in the OC next month. OC of course is Orange County (and yes, we're Cali people!).

omgosh! a fruit festival? i have never heard of it, interesting! what other kinds of fruit festivals does california (cali does refer to california right?) have? back to the main topic, yup mini-sized ones tend to be higher concentrated. but its difficult to choose sweet melons (or is there a way to choose them?)...always get the bland ones :/

Ahhh- in my town, we have the strawberry festival and also the salsa festival (THAT one is yummmy, hehehe). There's all kinds around here - there's even a lobster festival in San Pedro. That one is a good one as well. My bf and I love to eat (good thing we like to exercise as well!) that's why I know all these. I'm also a subscriber of Westways Mag - they know all the cool local spots. Cheers! P.S. I'm in Ventura County area - north of LA.

i cant remember if i have ever tried a 'mini' seedless watermelon, but i know i have come across small watermelons that are seedless, i dont know it they are mini though. well, for me any kind of watermelon is ok... i dont really like very sweet ones. i just want them cool and juicy. but i dont want them tasteless, as i have eaten a few of them they are juicy indeed but somewhat tasteless. i like them sometimes cut up in small pieces and then put sweetened condensed milk, its really great. my family loves watermelon too.

Hmm.... I have never heard of putting sweetened condensed milk on watermelon, maybe I will try it sometime. . . Im sure it makes it very sweet tasting and more of a dessert than just a fruit?!? Yumm. The more I think about it I will definately have to try it with the next watermelon I pick up at the grocery store!
