My husband thought it might be for me

But it wasn't... Today when I got home from work, there was a package. It was addressed to my son who is in the Navy, stationed in Sasebo Japan. I know a lot of places will require a package to be sent to the credit card billing address and not let you send it anywhere else. There are also times when places wont ship it overseas. I figured this was what had happened. We could tell that it was a "rock garden" so my husband thought maybe my son was sending it to me as a late Mother's Day present or something... Nah, I e-mailed my son and just got a response back. He'd be very happy if I mailed it out to him, it's for his apartment. Oh well, no gift for me...

Hahahahahaha - that made me laugh! I'm sure he'll send you something else for mailing him the package, no? Souvenirs from Japan maybe?

He did bring me home a calendar a couple years ago. It's the kind where you rotate the blocks so you can always use it. It's still wrapped up because it broke on the plane ride. I need to open it up and glue it one of these days...

awh no soup for you! heehee (sinfield) I am glad that you got the rock garden so at least someone does but mailing to Japan would be expensive. Is his address an APO address so it is not an over seas cost? Good luck my friend. I just mailed an afghan to my son and his girlfriend today. I hope they like it. Hope to be here more often my friend. I have missed you but have been to caught up in life's drama to type.

OH! I loved that episode!!! Yeah, he's got an APO, so it'll be about $15 or so... I just have to find the forms for sending overseas... I don't think it's going to go out today though, I have way too much stuff to do! I have missed you to! It's good to see you back!

Whoa! You sure are keeping busy! I'm glad your husband is back to work, I hadn't heard much about him again and was hoping he was snapping out of his "funk" and getting back to normal. What are you taking in school? It was hard for me to go back when I was in my mid-30's, having been out for over 15 years. But if you stick with it I know you'll do great!

Now that hubby is back to work things are back to normal. We are trying to get our loan on our home re modified our house went from 300K down to 143K we are asking for 3% interest and maybe some off the principle. Hopefully that will help our finances. I am in school so I have been busy with that. I find that my brain has gone to mush since I have not worked since 05 and been sick. Wish me luck because in one class I am not doing so well.

So your son is not stationed shipboard but is in his own appartment? My hubby loved Sasebo, but that was thirty five years ago. I hope your son enjoys it just as much. Tell us about the rock garden.

He's still on the USS Harpers Ferry, but he got an apartment last summer with one of his promotions. He is very cramped on the ship - he's about 6'3" - so he likes to have someplace to go and stretch out when they're not at sea. I think it's a waste though because they're at sea about 80% of the time.
