Pain in the Back

3 years ago I was diagnosed with a slipped disc and just short of a year ago I had flexible fusion surgery at the L5 S1 region of my lower back. A year on I can honestly say I feel no better for having the surgery in fact most of the time I feel worse and had a second procedure to try and relieve the pain associated with sitting without any success.
Has anyone else been through back surgery and was it successful, if so how long did it take to feel the full benefit of the surgery?
