What is the best music genre?

Music is one of the best gift we have in this world. It gives us the opportunity to express our feelings, our emotions, and share the real meaning of the song message. I remember one line from a song, "Let the music heal your soul" and another line "Let the music take control". This just means that music gives us inspiration.
Back to the question, regarding the best music genre I consider, I think, it would be POP. Pop music has been the most appreciate by the ears of the public, oldies or youngsters. Pop is actually the result of the combinations of different music genres, from Classical to Folk, Rock to Alternative, and eventually, emerged the RnB.
I therefore can say that POP is my best music genre. Since I am also a singer, not by profession but only singing as a hobby as of this moment, who knows one of these days I can be discovered by someone. I can sing but not as good as singers I have known. But a music is not just appreciated by oneself but must be shared to others and when heard, they can decide whether to reject or accept someone else`s talent.

Well... there is no best music genre since everyone has their own opinion about something. music is art and art has no boundaries therefore there is no definite pros and cons of a definite genre. It all lies on the listener. For me for example, I listen to a lot of genre of music so.. I don't really know what is the best but i can say.. that I love music. I just listen to what I feel like listening to.

Welcome to Mylot! I think that there really is no BEST music genre because it is all a matter of opinion in what each individual likes. My favorite is country but I also sometimes enjoy rock,pop and some rap. I wouldn't say country is the BEST genre to everyone but to me it is, just as pop is to you. So, like I said it's really just a matter what someone preers not what is best.

Well i dont think any genre is best or worst.Its all about music, and music is never never bad at all.I love to listen every type of song.Music makes me soothe my senses so i dont have any regrets over music and its genres.I enjoy any type of music as far they sound good for my ears.

In my case, I love classic music ,which is undoubtedly my favorate music genre.
My mother has told me that she listened to them a lot while she was pregnant. Maybe it has something to do with my current tendency. Hehe...
Whenever I feel tired or irritated, classic music always has the ability to relax me, both physically and mentally.

Hi my friend, for me all the music genre is good for me, all of them are the best. It depends on the song that I listen whatever the genre is, when it capture my attention I love it. I love music so much and singing and composing is one of talent. I pray that all my song will be heard all over the world someday. God bless you too my friend.

I like pop and r&b and a little of melo music. I don't have a definite genre. I like acoustics and light rock. My favorite music is OPM. I like the voice of Regine Velasquez and Ganno Gibbs. i also like any kind of music revived by JR. By the way, all the artist I mentioned are Filipinos.

hey, welcome to mylot! i would have to disagree with you in that. i love most types of music and i think jazz is the best just because it can be so spur of the moment. i love big band, classical, R & B, Christian rock, music from the 80's to now. i really like bits of all types of music.

Yes we are have our own favorite genre, but music is universal, we can separate it by genre but the basic is the same, music is a way to represent our emotion and feeling by combination of tone. So, for me the favorite is changing based on my state of emotion. When I'm in anger I like rock better than other genre, when I want to dig some inspiration I'll listen to jazz, and one time I'm in state of love I prefer listening pop genre. All genre have its own specification or something underlined, as for rock is its guitar tone, jazz is its bass, and pop is the vocal. Every music have different way to show, but one thing for sure music is emotion itself, if you song without it, there will be no soul for music.

Hey welcome to Mylot! Hope you enjoy it here, I have been here for only a few weeks but I am becoming addicted! Hehe. Well I am not sure what my favourite genre is because I love so many! I love Rock music alot, it is what I have listened to since I was around 10 years old so I guess that will always be special to me. I like classical music but it's not something I would listen to in general, only when I am feeling a certain way. I normally listen to it in the evening before I go to bed and sometimes in the morning or in the afternoon when I am resting on my bed. I listen to Metal alot in my everyday life too. I listen to Pop/rock music alot too. I generally just like music with good lyrics and a good beat and melody. I like ALOT of cheesy stuff but I don't mind, it makes me feel good : )

Hmmm. Good question. I don't think there is a particular genre I can call the "best music genre." I listen to such a wide variety that I would have the toughest time deciding between all the genres and subgenres. I try not to compare and contrast the music I listen to or place it in rank. I will never say that Japanese rock music is better than classical music or vice-versa; I love them both. The music I listen to has some sort of appeal that goes beyond the surface.

A few years ago i would have said metal, rock, heavy metal etc. However i eventually found myself hating it. I dont know wether its because i listened to it so much, or generally because i became a different person, however my favourite music genres now have to be trance, house, dance etc. Its a massive change, but i cant stand rock, metal etc now. Its weird though because at one point i absolutely worshiped rock, but now i despise it! I spose many people go through changes in there life? Have you?
