Why isn't there a dislike button??

Anyone? You can "like" something, so why shouldn't you be able to "dislike" something? surely a dislike button just makes sense..

I could only think that having a Dislike Button will not promote good relationships amongst Facebook users.

well you join facebook to connect with friends and make new ones and not to make enemies. so its only a like button. a dislike button would be a big fallback to the reputation of the site that is why they did not include it

That's a really good point. Unfortunately a lot of sites are more about ego boosts than honesty. I think they figure if you dislike it you'll do what mothers all over the place have suggested when they said the following. "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
