well i had much the same problem with my dog except he began to throw up when i changed his food from pedigree to iams, he has also thrown up several other times when we changed his food, when we took him to the vet, he said that it was simply the change in dog food. sometimes dogs stomachs cant handle the change, but all you have to do is simply keep feeding it to him and he'll get used to it. On the other hand it could possibly be an allergic reaction, the best bet is to hide the cat food somewhere high, and then give him his own food, if he wont eat it, then maybe try a chewy dogfood thats easy on his teeth

Can you put your cats food where the puppy can't get to it? If he starts eating it regularly it will be very hard to get him back on puppy chow. I agree with the last response that maybe you need to add a little water to soften it up for him.

It could be that his teeth just aren't ready and it hurts to crunch on the dry puppy chow. You might try wetting it down with some water or even a little milk. That way, he'll still be getting the puppy chow but it will be more like wet food. Good luck.
