Crime in my area is not that bad. I live in the midwest and I don't live in a really big city like St. Louis where crime is pretty bad. I mean there is crime here but there is crime in every city or town, but it's just not as bad some people make it out to sound.

Where i live there is no crime at all,coz i live in such a small village and most of the people here are old.The town just up the road from me has had an increase in crime,i think it's coz police officers are too scared to do anything incase they get sued or something, the goverment keep bringing out these new rules and regulations,so the criminals can now get away with loads.I don't see any reason why they can't just punish people the way they used to,prison with no second, third or fourth chances

I think crime is worse everywhere & going to get even worse. I live in a small town & thank goodness we don't have as much as larger places do/ I hope it stays that way. living alone is a worry when u hear bad things happening. i hope everyone stays safe. BE sure & KEEP YOUR DOORS LOCKED.

It's hard to say the crime is down or up here. I just noticed here people are less patient and polite. the street is less clean. Anyway it will be understandble if the crime is up

I think it is interesting that although a lot of cities are having more problems with crime, it is more of a rise in theft than any other crime. I guess with the worldwide economic problems, people were having trouble making ends meet. However, despite the doom and gloom in the United States news stations, murder rates have dropped a LOT in the past few years. I think I prefer it this way--I may lose my wallet, but I'm more likely to keep my life.
