Insecurities?!?

i've had the same financial insecurities as you. my parents were divorced when i was young, and all of my friends parents were married. i'd go to their nice houses and see their moms spend hundreds of dollars on clothes for them, and i'd always feel like i wasn't good enough to be friends with them. i know now that they liked me for me, but back then it was embarrassing to ask my friends to come over to my ramshackle house. i should've learned from this and got a good job so that i wouldn't have to live that way forever. but unfortunately i still don't know what would be the right career for me. i'm still trying to figure out what to do with myself, and hopefully i'll be going back to school in the fall. it helps to just take babysteps to improve yourself. just do a little bit at a time and it won't be so overwhelming. easier said than done, i know. good luck with everything.
