Whenever you are footing the bill at a restaurant, is it okay to take all the changes (including those few pieces of 10c or 20c coins) or leave it as tips? Does it look bad if guys take everything because after all most restaurants in malaysia charges service tax. Or should I let the girl take the small change since it looks better on them?

Usually what we leave as tips is a flat rate of $5.00. Even if the service isn't the best we try to leave some money. I know when I was a waitress I enjoyed getting quarters to play games, and just to have them for change etc. If anything, I'd leave a Quarter with maybe a couple of dollars, but I don't know as you did say they have a service tax. Do all restaurants have a service tax? I think some do in our country but not sure to be honest.

If your not sure what is proper to do, then try asking someone that you know what they do when they go to a restaurant. Or try to find out the percentage of service tax if you don't already know.
