I had joined SAM's club for over 2 years, but I didn't make much shopping in there. I only shop there occasionally, to purchase large quantities of breakfast or bubble gums, and snacks. It charged me about $40 per year. Sometimes, I don't think it is worth it, because I am not the frequent shopper there. What about you? Do you join any of those warehouse clubs? Such as Sam's, BJ, or Costco? Did you shop there frequently too?

We tried Costco when we first moved to Winnipeg, but gave it up because the cost of membership did not outweigh the cost of buying food and because there was just myself, my husband, and our two sons. It was more economical for those with large families or those who made large purchases, but not good for small families. So we gave it up.

I have a Sam's Club card but I didn't pay for it. My father in law has a business plan and he has his 3 children and spouses under the account. Excellent for me because it's at no cost. I do use it to at the gas pump because gas is a few cents cheaper for members. Otherwise I really don't use the card but maybe 2-3 times a year.

I go to Smart and Final - because they don't have membership fee. Or I try to go with my parents when they go to Costco. They go to Costco often - especially when they send packages to the Philippines. I think if you go there once a month to purchase bulk stuff - then it should be worth it. I mean other than those things you mentioned - I think you should buy more bulk stuff. Like laundry soap, toilet paper, etc. Stuff that you will use anyway, and will not perish.
