We can find lots of friends we have not been reached for long time.

I have found a lot of people online that I had lost touch with (friends) or who live far away (family) and it's a great way to keep in touch although I like other sites better (but I"m outnumbered)...

Facebook is a good social tool, but I also know that I have spent too much time on it at times. I don't talk to people much on it, but my niece sure does. I mostly play the games. But I must say that I have had trouble getting interested in it much lately.

I joined facebook just recently, and to my great surprise, I am enjoying it a lot. What got me to sign up in the first place was a high school classmate who works at a local store I go to sometimes. He told me he had run into several of our old classmates on facebook. So I joined. Met more old classmates on facebook than I ever did on classmates.com. Facebook is fun!

I don't see that it's a waste of time, unless you spend too much time on there. I guess it's that way with all sites. You can use Facebook, without spending all your time on there. I do.

It depends if how you use it. Wasteful if you think it is wasteful.

I agree with the many people who have responded "no". Facebook's helped me reconnect with a lot of people who I haven't talked to for up to 5 years+. It's also a good time consumer, if you really need something to do.

I think that Facebook is a valuable social tool because lots of people who have a myspace account also have a facebook account and I find that facebook is easier to use than myspace. Also you can become a fan of you favorite stars and different companies and groups. Finally facebook just has a lot more that you can do with friends, like send all sorts of different request and other things, if you want something that can keep you deeply in touch with your friends and also has many different things that you can do with your friends, facebook is the way to go.

Facebook is fine for me and I am enjoying it. I can reconnect with my friends and I am definitely having fun with it. So I don't think it is a waste of time on my part.

I personally don't like facebook. Most of the people don't say interesting things. Also, there isn't much customization. If you want something better than facebook, you should go to myspace.

I love facebook a lot!!! I just can't describe it. I really like keeping touch with my high school friends. I talk to those people who I would have not in person in schooll. The quizzes are also a great timepass.

I think it can be both. I use facebook, but I used to waste a lot of time with it. One minute you're just checking your friend updates and 2 hours later you're posting some comment on a wall. It has so many options to waste your time especially with applications and such. However, it can be a very good social tool, being able to find friends you haven't talked to in a long time or communicating with people in other countries that you can't talk to on a regular basis. In fact in an emergency I was able to communicate with friends and family on facebook to let them know I was okay while all phone lines were unavailable for several hours. Its a good tool, you just have to know how to use it so it doesn't waste your time.

no because i connect with friends and family members that live far away or people i dont see that often. it is easier than emailing each person individually and way cheaper than calling! i really like facebook and check it at least once a day (almost).

I think facebook is ok as long as you do not spend all the time on there as i find that once you get on face book you get chatting and lose track of the time and be for you know it i time for bed.I think it is a good thing if you do not get chance to see some of your friends as you can stay in touch with them on facebook.I also think if you are house bound that it is a good way to be able to chat to your friends and play games with them.

It can be if one doesn't know how to manage his/her time. On a positive note, Facebook is a very active social networking and it's brilliant. :)

I think that facebook is a valuable social tool coz i've met and kept in touch with friends and even relatives. But it also depends on how much time you spend there chatting coz too much of anything is dangerous, so for those people who spend the whole day on facebook and do not do anything productive then that becomes more of wasting time.
