Last Five Digits

Given the first 13 numbers of a upc code. How are the last five digits calculated?

The last five digets are the code to the actual product. ie..the numbers can tell you if it is strawberry conditioner as opposed to coconut conditioner as that would have it's own last five digets even if only off by one diget.
