Rating + or - the discussion really help?

The Ratings are suppose to help I think let them know which discussions we read if we did not reply to them, as well as let us MyLot know what the MyLotters enjoy or found useful and what they did not... I found I earned more when I rated compared to when I did not. It not only helps the person being rated but yourself earn more I been told. I rate everyone positive other then people who seem to not be responding to the question or a conversation in the comments at all. - DNatureofDTrain

I do think that it helps with the earnings. If you get a + , you would probably earn more, and if you give a + to other, it'll help with their earning. I usually try to give a + to everone that posted on my discussion. And I give a + to those who gives great answers to other people's discussion.

As per my understanding, getting a + point made you earn more. However, if you read from the guidelines/FAQ, we would not know who rate us +, but only the one who gave us the + will know. I normally give + to those who gave quality answer to my discussion. I do not bother with the one with 'yes,no,maybe,' kinda answer.

Honestly, I don't know. I assume it helps people earn more, but I don't know how to prove it. I don't know if I've gotten any. There are many bits of information that My Lot isn't really giving.

as far as i understanding a plus rating gives you an extra point and a minus rating takes one away. Ialways try to give plus ratings to good subjects and i will sometimes give a minus rating to abusive answers or one word answers. This is a good topic so it gets a plus rating as do some of your responses
