Scotland wedding

Hello! In August I will be going to Scotland, we'll stay in Glasgow, and are also attending a wedding which I don't know where exactly this would be held but I think somewhere in Loch Lomond. Now my problem is what to wear exactly since there is a lower temperature than we have here and may be raining too (from what I was told). I would like to know if anyone here on myLot is from Scotland or has attended a wedding for some tips on clothing and also wedding traditions they have. This is a wonderful place so I'm looking forward for this holiday!

it will be raining, the weather here is basically different kinds of rain. it probably won't be that cold but take waterproofs or an umbrella, otherwise it depends on what you want to do. oh and if you're near (i hope not in...) loch lomand there will be lots of midges so insect repellent might be an idea. men usually wear kilts for weddings, although suits would be fine too, women just wear the usual dressy outfits, and everybody drinks lots. will let you know if i think of anything else.

what are midges?? I was worrying about the dress as I have two dress but one is sleevless and the other on thin straps and was worried that I will feel cold. and to wear a suit is a bit too much formal. Hope it won't be rainy then. Thanks a lot for your help

midges are biting insects - bit like mosquitoes. just saw that you're from malta, scotland is colder. maybe you should take something to wear over your shoulders if you go outside sometime at the wedding
