hi.. i just got a new laptop with windows vista, i have a wireless connection but browser comes up with error, my laptop doesn't want to connect to the internet even though I supposedly have a wireless connection. with no discernable pattern, the wifi would be lost and cannot reconnect even though the network is visible. i've done everything to set up the internet connection and it says im connected but when i open internet explorer it says it cant find the page as if i dont have an internet connection. Somehow I am connected to the wireless router but I do not have any internet. someone please help..

I think u have some problms in ur wifi connections....usually in vista there wont be any problem with net coz dreivers are preinstalled in vista...check out ur wireless router properly connected and then try again...my friend is having vista os in his lapy and he is browsing perfect..and make sure if ur router get the latest vista compatible firmware for it...u can download the firmware in net.Happy Mylotting :)

thanks for the info..=) well actually the connection is just unstable, it's not that i cannot really connect. there are times where my access is only Local, there are times though that i have access both in Local and Internet. It's like an On and Off connection.. I am also using a desktop which is connected to the network and internet through cable, but with an XP operating system and i dont have a single problem with it..

I have the same problem...I have a new laptop running Vista and Internet connection is unstable. It may stay up for hours, and the next day it drops every 20 min or so. When I do a status Vista says all is fine. I have to always reset my connection to get it to come back, it's very annoying. I too have my old laptop on the same router running XP and it never drops.
