Hey, The way I do it, is I just simply use an anti virus. I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and I have had no problems with viruses so far, and I have had my computer for almost 2 years, I feel like Kaspersky has done a really good job. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

most probably i will attack the virus! i think that formatting the drives would be the best option but b4 formatting u shud create a backup for all of ur important files

I would definitely cuss because I take good care of my antivirus program and nothing should get through that. Then I would see what the damage is, save my new files on my external hard drive (I have backups of my most important stuff). My Dad loves working on computers, so he would probably offer to wipe my computer and reinstall Windows.

Actually I use kaspersky internet security which is rated one of the best Anti virus...It wont generally allow any virus inside the p.c and remove it..suppose if i get virus in my p.c I ll surely format my p.c coz system restore generally wont work if ur hard disk has been affected by virus...If virus attack is very less we can opt for system restore..but kaspersky Internet security defends the Virus program.. Happy Mylotting :)

If you know the name of the virus, I go to Symantec Anti-virus's website and search for the name of the virus. Symantec's website will tell you how to remove that virus. I think the best way to completely remove viruses is to reformat the system which involves reinstalling windows, and all the software you use.

Well, I have got a restore point of an earlier date than the problem, I will opt for the system restore. But, as restore points take a lot of space, I regularly delete them, so I think I will have to go for a sytem recovery or formatting. System recovery is easy and can easily be performed from a recovery drive in your system and a refrence your recovery manual. If you don`t opt for a recovery, you have to format your system. First format your system drive only, as only system drive is generally largely infected. Make a back up of your files. Restart the system with the bootable operating system disk in your DVD drive. Choose the drive you want to format and install the operating system (all your data in the drive will be deleted). Just follow the on - screen instructions. Happy Mylotting!!
