laptop or desktop?

Hello everyone i am very confuse now a days.I can not decide that what should i buy.I need to buy new computer but i dont know really that what should i but laptop or desktop if you can help me out with this then please give me right answear. I want to buy laptop but when i met some people they are saying that laptop is good but i will need to be very carefull while using laptop. They are saying that i can not play games very easily in laptop. Laptop will need to mend many times, and lots of thing they are sying but i want to buy laptop.When i think about this thing. My mind ckangs.Now i have decided to but desktop.If you can help me out with this querion , please help me out.I will be thankfull to you.

OK, let me tell you something. I am using HP Pavillion 2701 tx special edition 1.66 GHz, 1.67GHz core 2 Duo processor with 2GB RAM , 4 MB cache, 128 MB Nvidia GEforce graphics card, total 900 MB graphics memory, vista home premium genuine and i have played all new games with sizes ranging from 1 MB to 10 GB. I have never formatted my system and never went to a service station from the date i purchased one and half year ago. It is right laptops are slightly expansive, require more maintenance and precautions but their performance is just reaching that of a desktop. Also, in this competitive edge, you will require to give presentations and settle to a different place. Laptops are mobile and convinient to use. Now you can decide.
But, purchase only a good quality branded laptop.

If you buy desk top, you will not be able to go and bring it any where, but in home or office that you place your desktop and because of it's weight, but if you buy a laptop you can carry it wherever you go, you will need a ready wifi place an you can use it with internet, it is convenient to use and no need a big space.
