Most of us are busy with jobs we don't love with our heart and soul. We do them for various reasons. I am an engineer and became one as I didn't know better when I chose this discipline.Do I regret being an engineer? Absolutely not. But ask me if there is something I am so passionate about that I would want to trade my current job for it and the answer would be a Yeeessss. I love literature. Always have and always will. I have always loved to write and that I believe is my true calling in life. I want to know what it is that you have always wanted to do, yet have been unable to make a career out of.What are your passions? Maybe painting, scuba diving, carpentry? It could be absolutely anything. Would be wonderful to hear what myLotters are good at and have always wanted to do with their lives. Perhaps this is an Utopian idea. Perhaps not. But no one can stop us from dreaming. Lets not be pessimistic, may be we can still achieve these goals if we dare to make a beginning. So come on people lets share our passions.

Ahhh - I love anything water! From hydrology and flooding/flood prevention to domestic water to wastewater to water quality! I just love the topic, and the study, etc. I'm one of those who are lucky enough to figure out that this is what I wanted to do and actually doing it. I LOVE what I do! Hopefully one day I'll be able to take it out from here to developing countries and see what i can do to help them there. (And yes, I'm a civil engineer, more appropriately water resource engineer). Hehehehe

Oh nice that is so cool! Most of us end up doing things we don't love all that much. I am so glad that you do what you love on a daily basis. Hey hey, Im from India and its monsoon here. Wanna come down here?

I've heard a lot about your woes. I'm in no way shape or form a professional yet. Definitely learning from experience and what-not. Don't worry though, I'm planning to visit and hope to help with the whole flooding issue. If we can transport oil from miles and miles away from the middle of the ocean to inland, I don't see why we can't transport treated water (from rainy areas such as yours) to drier lands. Yeahhhhh - I have big dreams, big plans. =P

I bet you like to swim, too, don't you? I figured you might because you say you love water so much. I know I love to swim! That's my favorite sport next to horseback riding. Kathy.

I have always wanted to be a professional singer, myself. I majored in music (voice) when I was in college. I didn't graduate college, though. I realize you don't have to be a college graduate to be a singer. As a matter of fact I started a discussion about the benefits of singing. Have you read it? I also accompany myself on the guitar while I sing and I practice every night except Sunday Night and Wednesday Night. Those are both church nights for me and I need the break occasionally. I sing at one nursing home and one assisted living facility every month. Kathy.

I hope so, too. Maybe someday you will get to hear me. Maybe someday I can get a video on youtube and you can hear and see me perform there. I also play a little bit of piano and the harmonica. As far as singing at the nursing home and assisted living facility, it makes me feel good to know that I have made the residents feel good.Kathy.

That is brilliant Kathy. So you sing and play the guitar too? Nice! Its wonderful that you sing at a nursing home and the assisted living facility. That must bring you a lot of inner peace and joy. Not to mention the people who hear you must have a fabulous time too. Rock on Kathy! Hope I can hear you some day
