how to entertain dogs

my dog is not trained very well so we can't let him off his lead when i take him for walks, so in the garden what games could i do to keep him entertained i want to get him moving because he just sleeps all day coz he is very lazy

Fetch is great game. You don't tire yourself and your dog gets a good workout. But...your dog has to be trained to bring his toy back to you after its thrown. Another problem you face is that he might just not be interested in running after the ball.
