I was shocked to hear President Barack Obama saying that he wanted a strong and prosperous Russia. Do you agree with him because I have my own reservations. If you do agree with him, how strong and prosperous do you think Obama wants Russia to be. If you disagree with him, why? I feel President Obama was not being sincere enough for making that statement of wanting a strong and prosperous Russia. Will the US be happy if Russia is very strong to create more headache for the Americans? Will the US be happy if Russia becomes very prosperous "taking the shine" off the US, the European Union countries and Japan? The more I think about the "fact" that Obama wanted a strong and prosperous Russia the more I feel that Obama was not sincere enough.

Seems sincere and sensable enough to me, over all a pretty benign statement. It would be nicer if it was a strong prosperous NICER russia, but I suppose it's a start. The old Soviet union, our arch rival of the time, was ANYTHING but strong and prosperous and it was this lack of prosperity and strength that made it so dangerous, it put it in the hands of totalitarian madmen.

We have to wait and see. Where does Russia stand in cases involving North Korea and Iran? Is Russia on the side of the US and the European Union countries?
