who invented internet

No one person "invented the Internet". A lot of different people worked on different bits that make up what we now call the Internet. DARPA (US defense) came up with a good chuck on the underlying networking stuff. RFC 2045 gives the names to the people who wrote the spec for email. RFC 2068 gives the names to the people who wrote the spec for HTTP (how most files are transported over the internet). Tim Berners-Lee wrote the spec for the first version of HTML. And they would have built on the work loads of other people, likewise now hundreds of other people would have build on their work to develop what we now call the Internet.

Hey, I don't really know who invented the Internet, sorry about this. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

As I have understood it happened in the European research center CERN in Geneva/Switzerland and you might find the first website somewhere hidden on their page of www.cern.de where they have a link "where the web was born" such as http://info.cern.ch/ and show the inventors Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau.
