Google Chrome OS vs. Microsoft Windows

Recently Google announce that they will be launching their operating system with Google Chrome in 2010. So they are in competition with Microsoft owned operation systems Window's that people are using for years.
So what are your thoughts on this new OS from Google and if it will be a better operation system when compared with Microsoft Windows?
