why do we cry for?

they say crying has different types! is it crying feel at ease of something or it is necessary?

I have my own theory on this...I read somewhere that tears is a great bacteria fighter, it was proven just a few tears in a bucket of water with a lot of bacteria the tears killed the bacteria so I think seeing as nature has put everything in place for reasons I think maybe we actually have out own anticeptic and when we get hurt it makes us cry...as i said just my theory./..
