Would you care about the fame of your university?

Many people seem to have an elite school complex, including me.However, due to regional differences and unfair policies in my country,I didn't have entered a prestigious college even though I had remarkable scores.Throughout my freshman year,I was always sensitive to those superficial stuff, such as the fame thing.I am not one who easily infuluenced by what someone says or comments;however,I can feel people's contempt when I speak of the name of the college.Even till now,my self-esteem still attempt to avoid my addressing it as "my school". It is true that I am quite upset and depressed. I know this is ultimately out of vanity and I know success after all attribute to diligence and painstaking efforts. It is actually personal business which has little to do with external aspects. But I find it too normal that a person know exactly all these principles but is as well confused while facing with practical life. In the town I was growing up and educated, getting into university is not as easy as many other places especially those big cities. We have a lack of good education resources but depend largely on hard working. The traditional teaching methods limit most students' creativity, reduce their curiosity and imagination.Teachers teach according to certain patterns dogmatically, patterns that intending to make all of us think the same.Believe it or not,it is horrible but authentic. Anyway,I try to be positive and remind myself over and over again of my aspirations,my pursuits in life.Honestly speaking, college is not at all capable of determing my life.I have to move on with full energy and aim at my master's degree and even my Ph.D.
