travelling by train is one of the most fascinating ways of exploring a country and perhaps one of the cheapest means of transportation. Train transportation is just a convenient way of seeing the beautiful country sides and it is quite fast. The bunk beds provided in a train makes a long distance journey very pleasurable and convenient.Making your travelling booking or reservations is not hard, but it will be essential to make such reservations several days or weeks before the actual travelling day. Though some train services will include refreshments and meals but it will be adviseable for you to bring your foods and beverages along with you. You need to note that the amount you will pay for refreshments and meals on the train will be much more than what you will pay normally, hence bringing your food will save you cost

I have actually never been on a train before. Maybe I should try it out sometime just for the heck of it.

I do enjoy traveling by train especially alone, but not more than 24-36 hours at a stretch. I prefer traveling by an air conditioned compartment rather than an ordinary and use train travel as a mode for relaxation and getting away from all the hassles of daily life. I put off my mobile, and try and read as much as I can and sleep as much as I can. At selected stations where there is a long stop, I put on my mobile and inform the family/office about where I am, and get updates, before switching off the mobile. I also sometimes browse on the internet using my laptop and a data card while traveling.

Except for the Metro train which travels within the city, there is a lone train here that travels to the provinces outside the city. But I haven't ridden one since the train coaches are old and they traveled not among my destinations. Its often the planes, cars and buses I relied most on long distance traveling. But if there would be trains that are convenient and safe for travelling long distance here and would pass by my destination, I would be willing to try it for sure.
