Almost everyone one loves movies, but where do you prefer watching them?

I used to love watching movies at the theater. Especially when we lived 15 minutes away from the $1 theater. It was even $0.50 for parties of 3 or more on Mondays. Since I often took the kids with me, Mondays were the best days to hang out at the theater. Plus I didn't have to work on Mondays either, so it was the perfect combination. That was then, and NOW ~ I'd rather wait until they all come out on DVD and pay much less from snacks and be able to rewind at a moment's notice of pause them for restroom breaks, etc... Plus it saves me on gas, I don't have to deal with the noise from obnoxious people, and won't have to deal with running late for the theater time. Oh yeah, and no traffic either. So we're members of NETFLIX and for $10.99 a month, when equates to less than $.37 a day, we can watch up to 2 DVD shows at a time, and keep them as long as we want. We usually have been watching 2 movies per week. One ticket here costs $10.00 at the night time shows. What do you prefer to do for entertainment?

I prefer to watch movies at home now too because of the expensive costs. It is also $10 for a night time show here. Also, I like to eat snacks when I watch movies and it can get very expensive to buy them at the theater. There used to be a $1 theater about 15 minutes away from where I live but it not open anymore. So, I can eat popcorn and drink pop and watch a movie at home for a lot less money.

I totally agree with you and am glad someone else sees it from my point of view, especially with all of the economy issues these days.

Watching movies with family and friends is always a good way to do it.

I tend to not go to movies. My partner has been working opposite shifts from me. Of course if that changes, I think we would watch them at home unless we were wanting a special date night out at the movies. Netflix does sound like a good deal, I just do not feel I have that much time in the summer to watch television and movies. In the winter, it might be great. I guess my favorite place to watch movies is to go to my brother's house and watch with them when we visit. We love the group laughs and companionship.

Yeah, the camaraderie is important when you're talking about family and friends. But then so is everything else you mentioned. Especially the part about the special date, the only thing about us the need for a babysitter, so the netflix movie deals usually are the best option for us.

I used to always want to go to the movie theater. My parents wouldn't let me see anything other than a PG movie even when I was around thirteen. So there weren't a whole lot of movies I got to see, but when there was one out that I could see, and it looked interesting, I'd get my allowance and a friend and get a ride to a movie! Now however, I'm a Netflix member and I'm thankful for it! LOL I don't have to get annoyed at people's cell phones, or loud teenagers...Plus, I can loan it to my parents if they are interested in it. Now, I do want to go see a movie in the theater. I haven't been to one in almost a year. So absence makes the heart grow fonder. lol We have a dollar theater, but I guess because of the recession, they are now a TWO dollar theater! I've never seen a two dollar theater before.

I used to love going to the drive-ins but they don't have any around here and I probably wouldn't go now anyways. I prefer to wait for the movies to come out on DVD and then just buy them. That way I can watch it as many times as I want and I know it's well taken care of. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Yeah the drive-in is still a decent option, but their prices even went up on the admission prices. But we have a closed in vehicle now and everyone wouldn't be able to watch the film. Plus they position the screens so awkwardly that our kids could end up watching something that they aren't supposed to see from another screen.
