Well i think it should be the kids choice. Maybe right now have him see both the christian viewpoint and the one he wants. When he is old enough and mature enough he will make his decision. Faith is something that one has to choose for themselves not it be chosen for them.

In my own opinion no one should be forced to go to church or to do something that he/she didn't like to do. Children should be teach to go to church and should not be forced, we as an adult, should set a good example and make sure that they can see what are benefits that they could get if they will follow and obey us.

well its his choice to go or not...Any one cannot force him to go...He should keep god in his heart... I also did not go to any church or any other place where god appear... My mom and dad does not force me at all....

I know alot of people who do not believe in religion..it can be possible that this child has seen a lot of people living a very blind faith and live in a blind way.. its important for him to understand the importance of god in his life .. that would make him build his faith and grow as a christian..

Hmmm...sum stubborn kid in there huh? For once he is still under parental guidance and his parents knows best at least at this point. If he really think he is an atheist and is a loving son to his parents, then he should go. He need to be exposed to those believers to prove his point to be atheist and once the time comes he has enough experience about his belief then there is no point his parents can control him. But since he is only 13, he certainly has nothing to prove yet and should follow what his parents think is best for him. Tell him to be a good son first to prove his point.
