What to do with old VCR Tapes?

Does anyone know what to do with these tapes? We have so many and we did not know if we should throw them out or do they recycle them?
I would appreciate any info. There are too many to do the wrong thing with them.

If you lived near here I would love to pick them up instead of them being tossed. My family still watched VHS.
