So i've been a fan of the GTA series, ever since i got GTA 3 for Playstation .The freedom when you play was highly underestimated at the time. As i grew i began to become addicted to the style. I late bought PS2 and got Vice City, now i loved the game, because it had a sunny city it was close to Scarface and it had a great storyline. I loved that game so much, that till this day i don't let anyone else borrow it. So then i go into San Andreas, and again loved every bit of it, its originality its setting in sunny California, made the game enjoyable, the ability to fly planes and swim made me love it the most. However, i recently got an Xbox 360 and bought GTA 4. Now don't get me wrong the graphics are beautiful, and its very realistic. I just thought it lost the common theme of originality. The game is based in Liberty City and includes a immigrant named Niko who comes to America in search of a better life, but finds his cousin Roman is only a taxi driver, and isn't living in luxury. The setting is very depressing, the city is dark and too realistic. Meaning theres toll bridges to get to cities and you have to pay. You can only fly a helicopter, theres really nothing to do after you finish all the missions. And the city doesnt have the same vibe as others. I just want to know your opinion on GTA 4, i may be completely wrong but i think it didn't live up to the GTA series name. Also i heard theres a game called APB thats suppose to be the mother of all the series, and it looks great, can you discuss, about GTA 4 and your experience and whether you think APB will be a good game. Thank you for your opnions in advance

No wonder, I am also of same opinion but I feel that on terms of reality, this game fares well. But what I don't like is the view, the city appears dull, the vehicles do not control well, bikes are strictly a crap. Of course some cars handle well, some are not good. The graphics also demand much of the resources. And I really miss the country scenario as in San Andreas. I miss the beautiful panorama. I completed 60% as of now, but I am pretty sure this is a game that I am going to delete after I finish as there is not much to do after I finish this one. I am still playing San Andreas as it has got many things.

yeah i know what you mean about GTA 4, i loved san andreas and the freedom of shopping, riding bikes etc. but i think GTA 4 lacks that variety. i know its trivial but the clothes are either a suit, or terrible. the cars are either supercars or junk and there have been no new weapons at all i don't think. i can't believe they took out the bike riding that was brilliant in SA. at first i didnt like the updated graphics i thought it lost the 'gta' feel a little but eventually i came to like it, it was more intense than before and less like a cartoon. also, it was different to the last games with the storyline and the ability to choose the fate of your enemies. i love that feature although im a softy and let them live all the time haha

I really like GTA4, but I do have to agree. They should have kept it more in line with the older games. I don't mind a bit of change, but they needed to keep it more like the older GTA's. I haven't heard about APB, I will have to check that out.
