Does this make you sad?

Does it make you sad when the bands/singers you considered to be historic and or groundbreaking are unknown to the people around you? For example, I consider Nirvana to be a pretty big deal...one day in highschool I was listening to a Nirvana song and someone asked what I was listening too. I told them and they replied with "Who's that?" (This person was older than me by a year) Another example: My sister pretty much listens to everything I listen to. She came home one day and told me that she was the only one in her class who knew who John Lennon or Kurt Cobain were.

The answer is YES. Though I know Nirvana and John Lennon and Kurt Cobain. I just wondering why you schoolmate and your sister's classmates didn't know the "legend" in music? It is just so weird. But I feel the same way. Me, I love Japanese culture and I love J-rock specially GACKT. I know you'll ask "who the heck is GACKT?" And that's understandable.^0^He's not that famous compared to John Lennon or Nirvana but he's one of the singers that I hate the most when I first saw him, but later part I thought that the guy give me such an incredible feelings and strong emotions that why I love him now. He's an inspiration. I don't know If I can find other singer as incredible as him but yeah it is my opinion. Don't get me wrong but WORLD KNOWs how cool NIRVANA IS~ So I don't think we should be this sad every time there are people who didn't know them. As long as those singers/band give us inspiration that's fine. Rock out~ This is LOVE! GOD BLESS

Yeah, I just think it is sad that these kids who say they are big music fans don't even know who The Beatles are! Oh, thank you for giving me someone to look up! I've never heard of GACKT, but I will be finding out more!

O.O i love GACKT. Im also a pretty big fan of J-rock. And anything japan for that matter ^.^ lol. But yes i do truly agree that it sucks when even your best friend doesnt even know the legions.
