On relationship.....are you the main course or just dessert?

Hi. I have read a book entitled Men Are Just Desserts. It is about relationship that should be based on sharing of ideas and responsibilities and giving each one freedom and respect as a person. Men,the author says are just dessert because they should only be an addition to what qualities and capabilities you have as a person not mainly dependent on them for making you what you ought to be. Your opinion?
