Something wrong with my battery, help...

My laptop is DELL 6400, however, it seems that there is something wrong with my battery, and I am so worried about this. It displays there is no electricity available, however, at the same time, it tells me it is on charge now, this condition lasts a week... Could anyone help me to solve this problem? Do I have to change a new battery? It is so expensive... Thank you for your help!!!

maybe your charger has something wrong. lend one charger and battery of the same style from your friends and test on them. or perhaps they are not contacted well. if so you can just clean them up.
