When I was a child, I had a collection of porceline dolls. Many of them I still have and many I gave to my nieces to start them off with their collection. Many of the dolls today are worth a lot of money and a good investment for retirement or college for my nieces and nephews. My Mom started my collection when I was just a baby and continued threw my life. When I was older, my Mom started making her own porceline dolls and of course they are my favorite. She even made me an angel for my Christmas tree. Then in my teen years I started to collect Emmit Kelly clown figurines. Again they have increased in value and are in on of my nieces rooms. She loves clowns and circus memorabelia. Now as I am older I collect many things, old sterling silver spoons and dishes, antique dishes, coffee and tea sets, vases... many are family heirlooms. Native American artifacts, figurines and painting are a new passion of mine now. I also have a collection of lighthouses and bears figurines. I have so many we have called our house "Bears at the Beach". I come from the shoreline and my husband comes from the mountain area so it is quite fitting. My husband says that if I get one more lighthouse or figurine I will also need to buy a neon sign that says "GIFT SHOP OPEN" Hey, maybe the neon will be my next collectiom!!!

Hi Sunilparthan, It is a fun thing to collect and maybe even a goon investment in the future. Sometimes collecting something can be addictive too. Do you still collect dolls? Do you have any other things you like to collect?
