As far as I've understood rich is a word which measures the qualitative aspects of your life. That is to say you have more than enough materialistic possessions in your life, whereas wealth is something which can be measured and thereby can be said as having quantitative aspects of life. You can be rich in many things. You can be rich in old memories, words, wisdom etc. But when we speak about wealth the things come to our mind are most of the time materialistic things like a business, money, cars, mansion etc. We can say that rich can be connected with the inner life of a person and wealth can be connected with the outer life.

I don't think there is a difference other than the spellings they have the same meaning. Sadly neither of them will apply to me! *LOL*

If you are talking about money, they are the same thing. Just a different way of saying it. Wealthy sounds a bit more formal. "Rich" however can also be used to describe a high calorie or extremely sweet food. Like: "That Chocolate dessert was very rich"! You could not use "wealthy" in that sentence.

Hello, wealthy is having financial holding to pass on the furure geneations, maybe. Rich can mean having money but it might be temporary. It depends on your own intepretation.

People often get these two confused and for a long time I did too. But the word "rich", is used to describe a person with a lot of material things related to the money she/he owns. It was adapted from two of the original definitions of rich which is "a great worth or quality" or "having an abundant supply of desirable qualities or substances" Language tends to blend and evolve into new things over time and "rich" began to mean what we know it as today. Wealthy, on the other hand, is more specific to MONEY. When we say that someone is "wealthy", we are directly saying that this particular person has a lot of MONEY. This is "wealthy"'s only definition: "having an abundant supply of money". I hope this helps you!

I have read some say they are similiar but wealthy is when you are rich but you try to maintain what you have in a more wise way. This may not be the best description but this is one I have gathered. I see rich as you just having alot of money or possessions.
