Christmas & Easter in School

Do you think that it is ok for Christmas and Easter to be celebrated in public schools since they are Christian holidays? If your child's teacher were to give assignments on these holidays and teach the students about Christ's birth and Christ's death would you be offended? What would you do about it?

I studied in a Catholic school and there are Christian holidays that are celebrated. If I were against their policies then I would just transfer to another school. Public schools are different. There should not be a bias towards any religion at all.
