Pre-Season Friendly Matches of European Clubs / myLot

Please share your opinion of what you feel about the performance of the European clubs in the pre-season friendly matches they have been playing. I've watched some of the matches and saw the footage of some. I consider the performance of Manchester United in Malaysia below par; I wasn't impressed at all. I actually watched the team's second match against Malaysia XI. I wasn't impressed with Liverpool also based on the footage of their match in Asia that I watched. Today I watched the Cologne vs Bayern Munich match. Bayern Munich was fantastic not just because the team won by two unreplied goals but because the team was compact and played very well. The performance of Cologne was woeful. The team players did not concentrate and they gave ball away to their opponents fo easily. I equally watched the German Cup match between Wolfsburg (hope the spelling is correct) and Weder Bremen which the latter team won by two goals to one. The latter team was better although the former team can easily improve. So, based on what you've seen so far, please share your opinion. Many thanks.

Hi emmanola, I did not watch much of the pre-season match because I know that this match didn't give us a real strength of those team. Most of them are just trying the formation that they want to try. They want to know which formation is the best for their team or certain player. They also just want to tried out the new player and their combination with the existing player. Man United did come to Malaysia and played two match here. They suppose to played their second games at Indonesia but after the bombing incident on their suppose staying hotel, they played Malaysia for the second time. I did not go to the stadium since Man United is not my favorite team and the ticket price is too high for me (the lowest is RM58). But from what I read in newspaper, they played just to entertain the spectator or give a false hope to the host team. I saw part of the Liverpool vs Rapid Vienna and Liverpool lose 1-0. Liverpool also fail to win at St Gallen and Thailand. They only manage to draw in both matches. They definitely need more then that if they are dreaming to end their 20 years of title drought. Chelsea is more impressive in their pre-season match. They won all their games in United State so far. After won 2-0 Seattle, they defeat Inter Milan with the same score and AC Milan 2-1. Man City pre-season match just like roller coaster. They lose in their first to matches in South Africa against Orlando Pirates 0-2. They won against Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 but lose against the same team 0-1 in the final. Real Madrid also only manage to 1-0 win over Shamerock Rivers courtesy to goal by Benzima. If we look at the pre-season matches as the indicator for their true strength then the most of the top team in Europe not ready for the season to started. happy mylotting and have a nice day.
