I have a friend Melda, who is crazy about watches. Every month or most of the months she will buy a watch. She was my room mate. She has watches with various types of straps matching differnt color dress. I am not fond of watches. I get itching (allergy) on my hand if I continuously use watch. Are you fond of watches? How many watches do you have? How often do you buy watches? Do you usually use mobile or watch to see time?

i don't remember when i wore watches. i don't have watch around for ten years or more, i think. When i was young watches are very popular . Brand watches would be perfect gifts for people . People just live without it because they need to know the exact time. However when mobile becomes popular which can show people the time less and less people just leave watches alone .It's not fashionable to have watches any more.

Yes, most of the people moved to mobiles to see time and they also use it an alarm. So, the era of watches and alarm clothes have gone. I think now most of the people use watch as an ornament and not as an important item to look at time. Sometimes I forget to look at watch for time, but see my mobile even if I am wearing a watch. Thanks for the response.

Hi Daliaj, I think it is important if you are going or chose to ware a watch - to chose one that is suitable to what you are waring or is going to ware. If you dont have a matching watch it is better not ware one :) I can not say I'm fond of watches but I do like them although I dont have so many of them. I would only buy a watch if I like it and I have a matching something or two that would go with it. If I dont have something matching and I like it, I might buy it and then buy something to go with it :D LOL (crazy) I usually use my mobile, iPod or any other watch to know the time or I can simply ask who ever is with me :D Thanks and happy MyLotting

Yes, you are right. I think it is better not to wear a watchif you don't have a watch matching your dress. But, I think black goes with almost all color dress. Also, I think it is fine to use steel strap watch with almost all color dress. My colleague was using a pink color strap watch for all color dress, which doesn't look good. Thanks for the response.

hello daliaj, I have only two watch, one is for my everyday wear or casual and the other one is for special occassion. I only buy a new one if one of them is already destroyed or not working anymore. Buying every now and then is not important for as long as I have something to use every time I go to work is all that matters. I feel that something is missing when I'm not wearing my watch. I'm use to it for it's so useful. For I can go to a meeting before it will start and the likes. Good for your friend for she has a lot that she can match it whatever clothes that she is wearing. She is indeed in fashion.

It is nice to hear that you have two watches one for daily use and the other only for special occassions. My roommate also has two watches which she use as you said. I only have one watch with a steel starp. I am thinking to buy another watch with a leather black starp. But, I will use the steel one for occasions because it is expensive. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I am very much fond of watches and infact I used to buy watch for every 3 months in my childhood. Although i my parents would buy me the fancy watches that cost between Rs.20-40 then, but still it would bring a great happiness in me on seeing those new watches. I am a watch lover and I now have a Fast track watch with me. I am planning to buy one ROLEX watch for me but due to its exhorbidant rates, I am not able to buy one yet and I wish I get one ROLEX watch as soon I start earning some good amount. Hope I'll get ROLEX one day. Thanks for starting such a nice discussion here and have a great day. Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

I have heard that Rolex watches are very expensive - a basic model of it will cost around one lakh rupees. I got the information from my husband. He is also not very fond of watches. I recently got a fastrack watch because now they offer twenty percent discount. I think fastrack lasts long. I also got a sunglass of the same brand due to the discount. Thanks for the response.

I used to love watches back when I was in high school. But I stopped wearing a watch when I had this mark on my wrist because of always wearing a watch under the sun. Now that I am working again I need a watch to wear because we cannot be late so I am trying to have my watch fixed hopefully by tomorrow.

Hope you will be able to get it fixed by tomorrow. I guess who are very fair that is why you got a mark for wearing watches. Don't you take away the watch once you reach home? I do that. I don't like to get into kitches with watch on. My work in kitchen will destroy or damage the watch. Watches are expensive now a days and I don't want to take the risk. Thank for the resposne.

Hi, after reading many responses, finally I found somebody who is very fond of watches like my friend. Yes, it is difficult to use it summer because the sking under the strap itches due to sweating. You can try to wear the watch a little loost at this time. Hope you will come across lots of nice watches. Thanks for the response.

I spend most of my day on the computer. And I've found that having a wrist watch really gets in my way when I type! When I type, I rest my wrists on the edge of the keyboard or the table. Because of this, I can't wear anything on my wrists! So I don't buy watches anymore. When I was younger, "ring watches" that you wore on your fingers were very popular. I could probably wear one of those now. But I always have my cell phone on me anyway, and so I just use that to check the time.

I also spend most of my time working with computer. It is ok for me to keep a watch on and type, but I can't wear bangles while typing. Sometimes I come to office with bangles, then remove it and work, when I go home, I put the bangles on. I have hear about ring watches, but I have never seen them. I don't kow whether they exist in India.

Nope, because I get allergy on my skin. the last time i used a watch which was plastic really with a plastic base so i don't get the itch, was a long time ago before the cellphones were popular. i had to use one because i need to see the time while up in the mountains LOL. Then my Mom gave me a watch which was a free gift from a magazine subscription and i used it a few times because it was nice but i had to put tissue at the steel base so as not to get allergy. then I got tired to wearing it and really don't wear watches until now even if someone gives me a watch.

It seems you are also allergic to watches like me. I would like to share with you a few techniques I use to wear watches even though I am allergic to it. If you use watches with good leather straps, there won't be any allergy. Mostly, steel straps and plastic straps create allergy. So, don't use those strap watches for a long time. Even though you want to use them, apply moisturiser before wearing the watch and after taking it out.

I'm not really fond of watches, but I started wearing watches again a few months ago. I was more fond of them when I was little. I like the metal ones, but the drawback is they're too heavy for the hand. And I'm not really fond of time,I'm just stressed by it.I have never enough.

I am indeed. I got a big collection of Swatches (Which I share), and some others too (I keep for me). When I leave the house and my right arm is emtpy I feel strange. It depends a bit of my mood what watch I wear, I usally wear my Breitling though. We seem quite a watch family. My wife and also my for kids always wear watches. There is the right watch for everyone.

i love watches but do not spend a fortune in getting ht elast adn the branded ones. My uncles and parents had gifted me watches on my birthdays and even during my engagement. I'm more of a handbag and shoe freak than a watch freak - LOL :)

Although I have about 2-3 watches I am not crazy about going on buying them. Actually I got 2 as a present and I love wearing them occasionally. I use only my watch to see the time.

You are lucky to get two watches as a gift. I got one watch as a gift from my father's friend when I passed my 10th grade examination with good marks. I used it during my college time and after that I bought a good watch only a month ago when Titan has announced a discount of twenty percent for watches and sunglasses. I am not fond of watches. Thanks for the response.

It is nice to hear that you are fond of time, you should be, I would like to say everybody should be. Time is very precious. It doesn't make a difference whether you have a watch or use use cell phone to look at time, but it is important that time should be considered carefully so that you won't get a chance to look behind and cry that you have not used the time properly. Happy mylotting!

Since i was a kid, i never wear a watch. I just don't know why. It did not catch my interest. I used to checked time in the wall clock. As of this moment, i mean as of my age now, when I wear a watch, i feel so irritated. I cannot concentrate on what I am doing. Maybe because I am not really used to wear watch. I just based the time now in my cellphone. i don't think that I will still be interested with wrist watch.

i like watches too, but i would never buy them so regularly like your friends. in some meaning i think your friend is wasting money. does she hear if you have more than two watches you would never get the time correctly. I think for watch you need a very good quality one. so i just buy very reliable brand watch. They are not cheap, some you can say are very expensive. So my purchase is limited, but if i bought one i would use it for many years. For now i have two watches. one is for very improtant situation. another one is just for casual use. that's all i have now.

I admit that I am fond on fashion for clothing, but not watch. I will have 1 watch with me only. If the watch is out , I then will buy a new one. I don't buy watch and keep them for collection. But I need a watch with me for all my daily routine. My watch must have the date application too.
