Is the afterlife a motivation in your actions or your beliefs? Is it just something that isn't very important to you? If you don't believe in the afterlife at all, please elaborate. If you subscribe to a specific idea (Heaven/Hell, Reincarnation, Samsara) please elaborate on why, or how it affects or doesn't effect your behavior and thoughts. Thanks much, -Fox

I don't belive that anyones actions have to do with their beliefs in the afterlife. i think peoples actions are a direct reflection of personality and most people are not thinking of the day they die to effect the choice in front of them at this moment. At least not in a metropolitan areas. To get someone thats actions reflect the choices they make reflect upon their afterlife beliefs you must look at people that are not in the 9 to 5 ( 8 to 6 ) work enviornment.

But so many religions cause people to do things they wouldn't ordinarily do because they believe that it will effect them in the afterlife, such as Catholics going to confession. There is a small therapeutic value to confession, but it's true purpose is absolution so that a Catholic could go to heaven. One could argue the same is true for communion, or church services at all for that matter. Nothing against religious people, that's just what I observe.

Gleaming light of Souls - Life after Death. What’s the difference between someone who is asleep and some one who is dead? The dead person won’t be coming back. The sleeping person will be coming back. Is this a plausible idea? – The place we go to when we sleep, is the same place we go to when we die.
I practice Wicca and follow the wiccan crede. I believe in reincarnation for the purpose of soul enlightening. I believe when we leave this earth, we go to another plane where souls are being created, waiting to reincarnate when ready. Some are studying, some relaxing, some teaching, guiding, gathering at greetings, meetings and doing all kinds of things in between lives. I believe we chose a path and according to the choices we make we decide where the path leads. All in an effort to gain knowledge and understanding. When a soul reaches the level required they will meet the Creator as such. I don't believe in a heaven or hell. I believe there are several planes and worlds in which souls are working toward enlightenment. Here is a couple of excellent books re: Souls. Journey of Souls, Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton, PhD. http://www.spiritualregression.org/ Brightest blessings, Mari

Well, I don't really believe in the afterlife. I think that you can possibly come back as a ghost or maybe Reincarnate, but who is to say what the afterlife is or if there even is an afterlife?

As a Hindu, we believe a lot in reincarnation. As far as we are concerned it is our karma(ie whatever we do good or bad in this life, it is going to reflect in our next life, whether we come in the form of a human or a dog or a fish). So basically if you do a lot of good in this life, you reincarnation will be a much better one.

No, not at all. I have never believed in any after life system. there could something else but no after life. All these are men's false belief and have no logic. I do not believe in such type of hypothesis. men would never be able to know the universe and hence it is all in hypothesis. Let after life come and see me to decide upon. Those who believe could go on with their belief.
