Do you think yawning is contagious?

At work this morning, especially on the first day of the week, Monday, I felt so sleepy, and kept on yawning. My co - worker told me to stop it, because he felt so sleepy too if I start to yawn. She kept on yawning an hour later. And to the next co - worker during the afternoon too. I guess because today is Monday, and our weekend was too short. Yawning once in while is unavoidable.

I think yes, because once I yawning at the class, my pupils also will yawn, I don't know why. But at high school, my friend call me 'boss' because I always be the first to start feel sleepy and then the rest of the class will also feel sleepy. Hhahahah. It kind funny to remember it now because I don;t like the name before. Happy MYlotting

I truly believe its contagious. Everytime I yawn and someone is near me they yawn too. Even if I'm on the phone and I yawn and say excuse me they will say its ok you just made me yawn too. In fact when I read your comment I yawned twice. Even has I'm writing at this moment I'm yawning. This is crazy.

Dear clorissa,
I heard some sayings too that 'yawning are contagious'.
You can noticed that in a sitting area, if one person
yawns, it seems you will notice another person will yawn
too. It is quite amazing how this happens.
By the way, I read somwhere too, that when we yawns our
eyes will automatically closed. Is it dangerous to yawn
while driving?

nope........we yawn when our body needs oxygen. It's sort of our body's mechanism to satisfy that oxygen-hunger. Opening our mouth mouth to gulp air is the quickest wat to supply that need and maintain homeostasis in our body.

I definitely think it's contagious! If I see somebody yawn, it makes me yawn no matter how I feel! I've read that it's been proven that yawning is NOT contagious and just seeing someone yawn won't make you yawn, but I do question that since it always happens to me!

Yawning is contagious.. Even if you just read the word yawn it makes you want to yawn! I am yawning now due to this discussion so think Im going to go to bed soon! Although its only 22:04.. Hmm.. Ypu have given me this prediciment lol.
