Associates

So I've been thinking about going back to school which just happenes to start next month, and when I was looking through to see what calles that I was going to need to get my associates for accounting, I found out that the Community college that I want to go to tells me what classes I need and the college doesn't offer 4 of the classes that I need to get it. I'd like to know are most community colleges like that? where you have to transfer to a different school to get your associates? I find that kinda odd.

I do not know if that is common or not. I do know that the community college that I went to only actually gives out general education degrees; your major is listed, but it is not enourgh specialization to actually justify it. Most community colleges, if not all, are a means to get your first two years of college done cheaper than if you went to a four year college. I was fortunate that the campus I go to serves three schools: a community college, a state college, and an university. I merely transfered right next door when it was time to move onto the work of the degree I am after (Engilsh Literature major with a History minor).
