This was stated by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in her State of the Nation Adress 2009. It seems here that she believes there really is a strong tie between Philippines and the US, and that is more than agreeable, it is welcome. But don't you think by that speech she is also assuming close relationship with Obama and herself? What say you?
