Are you scared of dentist?

I am scared and a lot I guess is just the loud noise that they make with the machines and the tools that they use looks like torture tools that might be used in a movie. I have one or more molars that are bad because I have been in pain since yesterday and I have to go to the dentist but I have to get rid of my infection first. I don’t know how many molars are bad since the pain that I have makes me feel that most of the teeth on my left side are bad.
What do you do to relax when you go to the dentist?

The mention of the word detist used to scare me a lot when i was a kid, but today with 5-6 tooth filled (due to cavity) and one tooth taken out, it is like an ordinary thing to visit the dentist. I still have a lot of dental problem (i believe it is hereditary because all my uncles, cousins and my dad have the same problem).
The best thing is to find a friendly dentist with whom you can clear all your doubts. Next best thing would be to think of somethign good, when the dentist's work is in progress :)

I have had three molars filled and two removed but I have not found a dentist that makes me feel comfortable. And I have bad experiences with them the first filling that I got fall off and my molar broke in half and the second one was ok but after one year ¼ of the crown broke and the last one hurts on some occasions and the crown is soft with no texture and it is falling in little pieces.

Yes, I'm scared of dentists very much, it makes me frustrated, when I lie on the bed in a dentist's, I always worry about the pain, it's soooo frightened.

Yes I know it is horrible when they tell you that it is going to hurt but just a little. To me when they tell me that it mean it is going to hurt a lot. It has been around 4 years since I went to the dentist to get a molar fixed and I wanted to run I did cry and at the end he did not do a good job. There are times that it hurts and the crown is breaking and it never had any texture on the top it was just soft.

I don't like go to the dentist but I'm not scared. I just feel very uncomfortable must open my mouth and let the doctor do everything with his tools,,I feel sick everytime i open my mouth too long. it seems like the dentist will take a long time with you. It's ok, because usually you will be given anesthetic so you can't feel pain. Make sure you make some sound or noise when you feel pain because it's a sign that the anesthetic effect already gone and be careful not to make any movement by your tongue.. Yeah it's really uncomfortable must go to the dentist, but you need it for your teeth health..
I think it will be better if you start caring to your teeth after this

I am so scared of dentist because I have had some bad experiences with them. I am also afraid of needles and when I see all the things they use I just want to run and never go back. But thanks to me being afraid now I am suffering with a lot of pain and there are even times that I feel as if I have a nail going in through my molars. And yes I do take care of my teeth but ever since I was little I eat a lot of candy and I did not have regular visits to the dentist.
